Solar-Powered Water Desalination Unit:
In 2023, PMCC received a generous award of Kshs 31,113,874 from the Water Services Trust Fund (WSTF) for an innovative and ongoing project that is set to make a significant difference in the lives of the community members in Mtangawanda. This initiative involves the procurement and installation of a state-of-the-art solar-powered water desalination unit.
Meeting Critical Water Needs:
The pressing need for a reliable source of clean, fresh water in Mtangawanda has driven this vital project. Clean water is an essential element for human survival and community well-being. PMCC recognized this need and took swift action to address it.
A Sustainable Solution:
The solar-powered water desalination unit is a sustainable and forward-thinking solution to the community’s water challenges. It harnesses the power of the sun to convert saltwater into 10,000 liters of clean, fresh water daily. This not only ensures a consistent supply of safe drinking water but also significantly reduces the environmental impact of water provision.
A Community-Centered Endeavor:
This project is not just about the installation of technology; it’s about improving the quality of life for the people of Mtangawanda. Access to clean water is a fundamental human right, and PMCC is proud to play a part in making this right a reality.
As this project is ongoing, we remain committed to its successful completion. PMCC continues to work diligently to ensure that the solar-powered water desalination unit will serve as a beacon of hope for the community, offering a sustainable source of clean water for years to come. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of the people we serve.
